WEEKLY BULLETIN
Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we return to school in the weather we really needed in the holidays, I am delighted to share positive news about the start of term.
It’s been such a pleasure to meet our new Year 7s and Year 12s and to welcome back students in other year groups. Their enthusiasm, energy, and eagerness to reconnect with friends and embark on their educational journey is truly commendable. It is heartwarming to witness their dedication to learning and personal growth.
At MHS, we believe in fostering an environment where students can flourish not only academically but also as responsible and respectful members of our community. To that end, this term, our focus will be on upholding and even surpassing the high standards we have set for behaviour, uniform, and attendance.
Behaviour: We are proud of the exemplary attitude our students have displayed during the first days of this year. Their respect for teachers, peers, and the learning environment is essential to maintain a thriving educational atmosphere. We will continue to reinforce the values of kindness, respect, and responsibility, both inside and outside the classroom.
Uniform: The pride our students take in wearing their uniform reflects their commitment to our school. We encourage all parents to ensure that their child's uniform is in accordance with our guidelines. A neat and proper uniform not only promotes a sense of belonging but also sets a positive example for our students.
Attendance: Regular attendance is a crucial factor in academic success. We appreciate your support in ensuring that your child attends school promptly and regularly. Consistent attendance allows students to engage fully in their studies, benefit from classroom discussions, and build essential life skills.
As we move forward, I want to assure you that our dedicated staff are committed to providing your child with the best possible educational experience. We will continue to implement innovative teaching methods and extracurricular activities to help your child grow academically and personally.
In closing, I want to thank you for your ongoing partnership with us. Together, we can ensure that this year is a rewarding and enriching experience for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to a productive and successful term.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. I am excited to witness the remarkable achievements of our students in the coming months!

UNIFORM We would like to remind you of our uniform code at MHS. Significant changes were made to our uniform last year in response to feedback from the Student Parliament. Please find our updated uniform code here. You will find details in the uniform code if you require any financial assistance towards the cost of school uniform or are in receipt of Free School Meals. Details of the sixth form dress code can be found here: Sixth Form dress code. Students are expected to wear plain black shoes and that trainers are not permitted. Shirts should be tucked in. If your child has had a piercing or any nail painting/extensions over the holidays, please ensure these are removed for the start of term. All piercings must be removed for PE lessons; one pair of stud earrings is the only jewellery that may be worn. Please speak to Heads of Year for any other jewellery requests for supportive (i.e. anxiety rings) or religious reasons. These will need to be removed for health and safety reasons when requested. |
SCHOOL DAY TIMINGS & TERM DATES Our school day now finishes at 3 pm daily except on Wednesdays when we will finish at 3.45 pm after enrichment. School is open from 7.45 am and children are encouraged to come into school early to prepare themselves for the day. We ask all children to come straight into school upon arrival for their safety.
