WEEKLY BULLETIN

27 September 2024

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a fantastic start to the academic year!

I’m delighted to share the success of our Year 6 Open Evening, which was attended by over 600 people.

A huge thank you goes out to our brilliant student tour guides, student room supervisors, staff, and parents for making the event such a memorable one. A special mention to Chloe, Ben, Viola, Smaranda, and Atifa, whose outstanding speeches during the Headteacher's talk truly captivated the audience. I’d also like to express my gratitude to Aspen's Catering and Tamara, Chair of the Friends of Montpelier, for demonstrating the power of real partnerships. Finally, a massive thank you to Ms Stokes, Mrs Waring, Mrs Walker, Ms Ford, and Mrs Rowe for their tireless efforts in organising the evening – it was a sterling team effort!

Another highlight so far this term was the Governors & Prefects Dinner, held on Tuesday 17th September 2024 at Merchants' Hall. This annual event, hosted by the Society of Merchant Venturers, honours our Year 13 students for their outstanding contributions to the school. Our students had the opportunity to meet Prefects from Collegiate School and Merchant’s Academy, and I was immensely proud to hear them sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.

Lastly, a reminder that on October 2nd we’ll be celebrating **Colourful Tights Day** in memory of the vivacious and vibrant Jo Varney. Please bring £1, with all proceeds going to charity.

Yours sincerely

Vanetta Spence

Headteacher
