We encourage students and staff to sign up as a ​member of the public library. Local libraries are spread ​across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You can join ​the library either in your local branch or online.

Use your local library to find resources that the school ​library does not stock. You can search the library ​catalogue by using Libraries West. If your local library ​does not have the item you require they may be able to ​order this for you.

Your public library can source books and other ​reference materials (maps and other artefacts) as well ​as provide access to electronic resources such as e ​books, digital newspapers, magazines and online ​databases. These can normally be accessed free of ​charge from the LibrariesWest page using your Library ​Card number.

Resources for ​Writers

Read about the winners of the ​current competition that welcomes ​poems on any theme and any length. ​Launched each Spring and awarded ​in October, it is completely free to ​enter for anyone aged 11-17 ​worldwide.

Hosts regular competitions to give ​people the chance to get writing so ​they can discover the joy of seeing ​their work in print

Dedicated to Historical ​Fiction, entries can be ​prose, poetry, drama, ​reportage or fictional ​letter

Submit reviews to win free ​books. Look for the ​'Giveaways' link to enter ​draws to win new book ​releases
