WEEKLY BULLETIN

10 November 23

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to extend a big thank you to all those who attended the Year 8 Parents Evening. Your active participation and engagement have shown a strong partnership between home and school, and we appreciate your commitment to your child's education and MHS.

I am pleased to provide you with a brief update on recent developments at MHS. We are excited to share that the merger with E-ACT is progressing smoothly, and members of the E-ACT team have already begun collaborating with our school leaders on innovative projects. This partnership promises to bring about positive changes and enrich the educational experience for our students.

On another note, I understand that the reopening of the school toilets is a matter of concern for many. While we are still in the process of fitting cameras for enhanced security, there have been some unforeseen issues with the wiring. Please be assured that we are actively addressing these challenges and remain committed to reopening the toilets as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we understand the importance of access to bathroom facilities during the school day. To alleviate any inconvenience, we plan to open the toilets a little earlier during break and lunch periods. This interim measure is aimed at ensuring the well-being and comfort of our students while we work towards the full reopening. Our goal is to have the toilets fully operational by the end of the term, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through these technical challenges.

Once again, thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We value the partnership we share with each of you and look forward to a successful and productive academic year.

Please could you remind your child that nose studs/rings are not permitted (even if covered with a plaster) and there should only be one stud in each ear. Blazers are compulsory and should be worn at all times and skirts must be worn no higher than just above the knee. Thank you for your on going support.

Due to a change in circumstances, we have two spaces available on the ski trip which is running from 29 March to 6 April 2024. More information is available on our website here. For further information, please contact Mrs Thorne via email, sally.thorne@montpschool.org.

PROPOSED SICILY TRIP, 8 - 12 APRIL 2024

We are intending to run a visit to Sicily this coming April. The visit will initially be open to all students in Years 10 to 13; we will offer any spaces left after the deposit deadline to students in KS3. The trip will include excursions related to geography, ancient history and archaeology.

The cost of the trip is currently forecast at £899, with a deposit of £350 to cover the cost of the flight. The trip will run on a first come, first served basis. The deposit item will open for all parents at midday on Monday 20 November. A letter with full trip details will be sent out next week: this announcement is to give you some notice to consider the trip, before the payment item opens.
