WEEKLY BULLETIN
11 October 2024
Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to start by extending a huge thank you to our staff, current students, and parents who attended our V6 Open Evening on 10th October 2024. A special mention goes to Aidan for providing a full night of piano entertainment, and to prospective students Violet and Meg for their fantastic support with tea and coffee.
Over the last weekend, we had a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh trip. Ms Donovan, our DofE coordinator, reported that the students demonstrated real resilience and teamwork throughout the expedition. A heartfelt thank you to Mr Bundock and Miss Salt, without whom the trip would not have been possible.
Looking ahead, our final Year 7 Open Morning for this year will be on Wednesday, 16th October. If you were unable to attend one of the events, or know anyone who would still like to visit for Year 7 or Year 12 entry in 2025, please contact us at mhs-admissions@mhs.e-act.org.uk and we will be happy to arrange a private tour.
Lastly, a reminder that Year 11 Parents’ Evening will be held on Thursday 17th October, 3:30-6:30pm.
Kind regards
Vanetta Spence
Headteacher

MONTPELIER PARK AND ALBANY GREEN WORKS - MESSAGE FROM BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL You may already be aware that the work to refurbish the play areas at Montpelier Park and Albany Green play is due to start Monday, 11 November 2024. The work at Montpelier Park will take ten weeks to complete and the basketball court will also be out of action to serve as a storage area for the duration of the works. Albany Green will be closed until December 2024 but the toddler play area will remain unaffected. Posters are up at each site and the Bristol City Council website (//www.bristol.gov.uk/playparks) has been updated to highlight the works taking place. Due to the difficulties with access to the Montpelier Park site, please be aware that there may be some temporary road closures on St Andrews Road while deliveries are made, and old equipment is removed from site. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. We have added posts to both the Bristol City Council Parks X account and NextDoor so please feel free to share these more widely in your community. If you have any further questions about the refurbishment works, please contact Mike Lawlor, mike.lawlor@bristol.gov.uk |
THANK YOU TO TESCO BRISLINGTON - WELCOME BREAKFAST CLUB DONATIONS
