WEEKLY BULLETIN
12 January 2024
Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. Firstly, I want to express our gratitude to the Year 11 Performing Arts students for the enchanting performances they showcased this week. The talent displayed was truly remarkable, and the supportive atmosphere among the students was exceptional. A special thanks to Ms MacDonald for her dedicated efforts in guiding and nurturing the group.
This week, we successfully conducted our first Mock results day, aimed at assisting students with their Post 16 choices and preparing for the upcoming exams. The event not only provided a glimpse into the real GCSE day but also garnered positive feedback from both staff and students. Their valuable suggestions will help us enhance our support systems in the coming months.
Finally I would like to draw your attention to an exciting parent/carer opportunity. As part of our Parents in Partnership initiative, we are excited to offer an opportunity for parents to delve into effective revision strategies. On Tuesday 23 January from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, ELEVATE will be hosting a Live Parent Webinar on "How to Help Your Child Improve Their Note Taking." Further details and the registration link can be found later in this newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a collaborative learning environment at our school.

PSHE WHOLE SCHOOL DROP DOWN DAY THURSDAY 25 JANUARY 2024 Students will be taking part in the second of our three whole school drop down days. These days are designed to support and further develop our PSHE curriculum. They offer opportunities for the students to work with outside agencies and give more time for tutor/mentor check ins. Year 7 and 8 will have a focus on healthy lifestyle and wellbeing with opportunities to take part in dance sessions, first aid and smoothie making. Year 9 will have a focus on safety and the chance to work with an outside speaker about drug and alcohol awareness. They will also have an assembly about domestic violence delivered by a Southwest charity, Stand Against Violence. Please note this assembly does use a hard hitting and thought-provoking film which your child may want to discuss with you. Year 10 will be exploring work experience options and cyber safety. Year 11 and year 12 will be developing their study skills alongside learning about cyber safety. They will also be having a talk from Brooks about sexual health and wellbeing. Year 13 will be exploring cyber safety and apprenticeships.
