WEEKLY BULLETIN

28 June 2024

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Community,

I am delighted to share the fantastic news about the recent summer fair, which was a resounding success, raising over £1,800 for the Friends of MHS (PTA) fund. One student alone raised £25 selling her homemade fruit key chains, well done Tasmia! Her takings, together with Learning Support’s henna tattoo stall raised £76 which they chose to donate to Medical Aid for Palestinians. A massive thank you goes to Tamara and her incredible team for their outstanding organisation of the event. We are also grateful for the invaluable support from Mrs Malik, Mr Slade and Mrs Waring.

The fair was a wonderful day filled with fun, food, and sunshine, and it wouldn't have been possible without the enthusiastic participation of our teachers, support staff, and students, who ran an array of delightful stalls and activities. Here is a snapshot of the day.

To keep the spirit of such events alive, we are urgently seeking more parents to join the PTA. Your involvement is crucial for the continued success of these initiatives. If you are interested, please contact MHS Info so we can provide you with further details.

Additionally, a special thank you to Ms Peg Squires (UWE Fashion) and Mrs Fincham for the stunning Colston to Phoenix Fashion Show. The event was a spectacular journey through the history of our school, showcased through fashion and set against a backdrop of historical events. The student designers and models truly shone, delivering a visual and musical extravaganza. If you missed it, there's still a chance to catch this remarkable show on the 5 July as part of the St. Paul’s Carnival Fundraising events.

Thank you once again for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Vanetta Spence
