WEEKLY BULLETIN

28 March 2024

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Community

We are now at the end of another term; I would like to take this opportunity to express once again my gratitude for your unwavering support throughout these past weeks. It has been a short and undoubtedly busy term, and I believe that each and every one of us deserves a well-earned rest.

However, as we wind down, it's crucial to remember that there's still important work ahead, particularly for our Year 10, Year 11 and Year 13 students. With exams looming, revision is essential. To aid in this preparation time, A Level students have been provided with materials from their teachers and have access to UPLEARN. Likewise, GCSE students have access to Pearson Revise, GCSEPod, Sparx, and Year 11 students are invited to Easter Revision School. I urge you to encourage your child to make the most of these resources.

As a reminder, while our staff may not be readily available for academic matters during the holidays, they are here to offer pastoral support. Students can reach out to us using the WHISPER function on the website.

I'd also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ms Kaur, Mrs Mukit, Ms Ibrahim, and Mrs Rayment for their exceptional support in organizing the MHS Iftar alongside our incredible V6 Students and the "All Equal, All Different" enrichment group. This event was praised by our guest speaker as a shining example of community cohesion, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Looking ahead, I am filled with excitement for the next term and the wonderful opportunities it holds. Together, I am confident that we will continue to achieve great things.

Farewell to Anja Slijkhuis - V6

As Ms Slijkhuis bids adieu to V6 this term, we reflect on the immense impact she has had on our community. Her unwavering dedication to guiding students onto their chosen pathways after 6th form has left an indelible mark on each individual she has touched. Anja's departure marks the beginning of new adventures in her home country of The Netherlands, but her absence will undoubtedly be felt deeply by both students and staff alike. Her warmth, kindness and tireless commitment have made her a beloved figure at our school. Anja, you will be sorely missed, and we wish you the very best in all your future endeavours.

Welcome to Michael Goodman - V6

We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Michael Goodman, who will be joining us in May to continue the important work of supporting our students at V6. With his wealth of experience as a support worker, Michael brings invaluable insight and expertise to our team. Having previously worked in schools and in family support roles, we are confident that Michael will make a significant contribution to our community. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will have on the lives of our students. Welcome aboard, Michael! We look forward to embarking on this journey together.

Yours sincerely
